What time does each BA lounge open and close?
BA operate a number of lounges globally, from the seven lounges at their home base of Heathrow, to the newly upgraded First and Business Class lounges in Singapore. All operate different opening hours, and in some cases BA relies on third party operators for their premium passengers.
BA UK and Ireland Lounge Opening Hours
I’ve included all UK airports that have BA flights, so for some airports this lounge list includes third party lounges that are the official lounge for BA passengers.

Miami is top of the list. If you’ve been in or out of that airport you’ll know that the lounge situation is a little dire, and BA have two flights a day to that city. Both are serviced by an A380, which means a lot of premium passengers but no lounge to put them in. There is talk of a BA lounge opening in 2025, and in February 2025 BA references the Miami lounge when they spoke about their newly refurbished Seattle lounge.
The BA Dubai First and Business class lounge is currently closed for a refurbishment. That was expected to re-open in Q1 2025, which we are now well beyond that deadline.
Aside from Miami there is little talk of new lounges. Some lounges will be upgraded or refreshed but BA is not in an expansive mood when it comes to their lounge network. It’s still up in the air what will happen at Manchester as they move to T2. There may be a oneworld lounge, although this feels less likely, but it’s equally very unlikely that there will be a dedicated BA lounge at T2.
How busy are the lounges at different times?
I’ve recently been digging into the data that BA make available on their Heathrow lounges, specifically the airside lounges in T5. I’ve put my findings into a post on how busy BA’s lounges are at Heathrow. This level of detail isn’t available for the rest of their lounge network, so if you’re trying to work out when lounges will be busy it’s safe to say that they will start to pick up three hours before the next BA flight.
