Get the Pointszilla app for iPhone and iPad

A new way to get our news and use our tools

It’s been just over two years since we launched Pointszilla, and I’m really excited that we’re launching our iOS app. It’s been in development for a few months, so I’m really excited that you can now experience it.

What is the Pointszilla app?

The app is an even better way to consume our news and use the tools that we’ve built. You’ll get access to all of the stories that we publish, plus our Avios / Virgin Shopping comparison tool and our Avios Points calculator.

As a native app has more functionality than a website, there are extra features that you won’t find by visiting Pointszilla in a browser:

  • Our Shopping tool allows you to look up any shop listed in the Avios or Virgin shopping store
    • You can automatically get alerts when a shop you select has an increase in the earn rate.
  • You can use our Avios calculator to see the points and cash needed for any flight on BA’s network
  • There’s a full search function that allows you to look through every article we’ve ever written.
    • You can bookmark your favourite articles to build up a reading list
  • Finally, you will also get notifications when new stories are added

How do you install the app?

Visit the Pointszilla page on the Apple App Store and click the Install button, that same way you would with any app on your iPhone or iPad. It’s a lightweight app that will download quickly and won’t take up too much space on your device.

What’s coming up in the app?

Unlike the British Airways app, we’ve already added new features since we soft-launched the app two weeks ago

  • You can now view and add comments across all of our articles
  • We’ve fixed a bug that meant you might have needed to log in too often
  • We’ve improved the way that images are zoomed in articles: you can now rotate your phone to see landscape images better.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll launch more new features in the app that will not only help your travel planning but also help you as you fly.

How can you help us?

Feedback is really useful to us. You can add comments to this article with anything you want, but especially important is bugs or just things that don’t work as you would expect them to.
