Earn 5 Avios points per pound spent at Gail's or Paul

Building up a sizeable Avios balance isn't just about the big transactions. Small, regular additions to your balance can add up in the long term. Uber is a great example of this, and now Gails is joining the Avios party. Bakery Paul

What's the deal with Gail's and Avios?

To collect 5 Avios points per pound you spend at Gail's you need to add your card into the Avios Estore. Head to shopping.ba.com, login and then select hover over the icon in the top right of the page, then select "View Account". Scroll halfway down the page to the "Registered Cards" section, and add in the debit or credit cards that you use.

Once that's completed any spend at Gail's on a registered card will mean that you get 5 Avios for every full pound you spend.

You can see an example of a registered card section below, with a number of different credit and debit cards added.

How does Avios work with Paul?

The same as with Gail's - make sure you purchase at Paul using a card you've already registered in the Estore, and then you'll automatically get 5 Avios points for every full pound you spend.

Do you still earn Avios through an Amex card at the same time?

Yes, you can double-dip. So spending £10 at Gail's would give you 50 Avios via the Avios Estore, and another 15 Avios through the BA Amex Platinum Plus Card (or 10 through the regular BA Amex Card, 10 through the regular Barclaycard Avios card, or 15 via the Barclaycard Avios Plus card).

Does this work with any other store?

Yes - there are 127 companies listed in the "Collect In-Store" section of the Avios Estore. That's increased significantly since the last time I checked. Some notable food and drink offers include:

  • Hawksmoor (10 Avios per pound)
  • YO! Sushi (7/£1)
  • The Ivy Asia (5/£1)
  • Tattu (5/£1)
  • Gaucho (10/£1) - not all Gaucho locations are included

There is a leaning towards more London/South-based food providers. In Manchester, you can earn Avios via Hawksmoor or the two Gail's locations.

If you're looking to maximise your Avios earnings there's two restaurants that offer 20 Avios per pound spent (Abu Zaad and Copper Ceylon) and 35 restaurants where you can earn 10 Avios per pound spent.
